Artists’ Collecting Society (ACS) was formally established as a collecting society in June 2006 to collect Artist’s Resale Right (Droit de Suite) on behalf of artists in the UK.
Artist’s Resale Right provides artists with a royalty payment every time your work is re sold by an art market professional for a price which exceeds €1,000 or £680.
The royalty payment due to you is calculated as a percentage of the resale price as follows:

| From 1,000 to 50,000 | 4.00% |
| From 50,000.01 to 200,000 | 3.00% |
| From 200,000.01 to 350,000 | 1.00% |
| From 350,000.01 to 500,000 | 0.50% |
| Over 500,000 | 0.25% |
This royalty has to be managed by a designated collecting society of your choice and will be collected from the dealer or agent responsible for the sale of your work.
Artists’ Collecting Society (ACS) is a not for profit ‘Community Interest Company’ which as been set up purely for the management of your Artist’s Resale Right and is 100% dedicated to providing you with the most time and cost efficient service.
We will monitor the resale of your work all over the world to ensure that every time your work is resold, your royalty can be collected and paid to you as quickly as possible.
Our presence has already forced the percentage rate of commission, retained by collecting societies down to 15% which means that 85% of your royalty will go straight back to you.
Furthermore, there is no charge to join ACS and your membership does not affect any prior arrangements you may have with any other collecting societies for the management of any other rights associated with your work. I.e.; you can be a member of one collecting society for the collection of your copyright royalties and payback royalties, and simultaneously become a member of ACS for the management of your Artist’s Resale Right.
